According to film industry tracker AB George, Chotta Mumbai grossed approximately ₹40 lakh on its opening day, with ₹37 lakh coming from Kerala and ₹3 lakh from Gulf centers. This marks it as the third-highest opening for a Malayalam film re-release, behind only Spadikam and Manichithrathazhu. Notably, the film’s strong performance comes without the extensive marketing campaigns that usually accompany such re-releases.

On its second day, the film experienced an increase in audience turnout, especially in single-screen and multiplex theaters across urban and semi-urban areas in Kerala. Early trends suggest that Day 2 collections might have surpassed those of Day 1, underscoring the cult status and enduring popularity of the film.
