Kuberaa Censored: Dhanush-Nagarjuna’s Multilingual Film Cleared by CBFC, Set to Release on June 20, 2025

The upcoming multilingual social thriller Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni, has officially received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film has been granted a U/A (13+) certification, with a runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes. The movie is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 20, 2025.

Multilingual Release and Star-Studded Cast

Kuberaa was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, and will also release in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The ensemble cast is led by Dhanush as Deva, alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in significant roles. Veteran actor Sayaji Shinde appears as SI Ashok Godbole, with support from Divya Dekate, Koushik Mahata, Saurav Khurana, Col. Ravi Sharma, and Hareesh Peradi.

From D51 to Kuberaa: Film Development

Initially announced in June 2021 under the working title D51—marking Dhanush’s 51st lead role—the project was later referred to as DNS, referencing the collaboration between Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Sekhar Kammula. After careful consideration, the title Kuberaa was finalized.

The film was primarily shot in Hyderabad and Mumbai, featuring cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy and editing by Karthika Srinivas. Production design was managed by Thota Tharani, while the music score was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, marking his third collaboration with Dhanush and first with Sekhar Kammula.

Promotions and Music Releases

The promotional campaign for Kuberaa is underway. The first single, “Poyiraa Mama” (Telugu) / “Poyivaa Nanba” (Tamil), was released on April 20, followed by the second track, “Anaganaga Kadha” / “Kadha Kadha Kadhai”, on June 2. A teaser titled Trance of Kuberaa premiered on May 25, generating excitement with its intriguing visuals and tone.

Production and Expectations

Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banners Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, and presented by Sonali Narang, Kuberaa is one of the most awaited releases of the year. With its powerful cast and technical team, the film is expected to make a strong impact at the box office as promotions ramp up closer to release.
